How can I work out how a change will affect tax credits without telling them and waiting for new paperwork? Will they tell me on the phone what the new payments will be?

I know we will lose our working credits but they aren't a lot anyway but as husband has left work we need to know how much child tax credit is affected ASAP. Entitled to says it doesn't change at all but that doesn't sound right to meHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

He left his job? Is he going to claim JSA? Income based JSA passports full tax credits.0

Don't think he will get it as he left his job so we have some savings to use if neededHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Can you not claim JSA then?
Although if you have savings to last 6 months, then you'd not get income based.0 -
I don't think I would get it either as I haven't been employed since 2010. He is hoping to find work quickly so do I inform tax credits now or when he gets a job? Don't want to get in trouble for not informing themHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

If savings under £6,000 yes you can claim JSA and add OH to claim (avoiding sanctions), he'd have to claim CA. Or you claim IS and add him.
Re tax credits, problem is they use yearly figures, so unless on a means tested benefit any credits will just a borrowed as once he gets a job paid back later.
Ie you estimate now being based on our of work, then estimate when he gets work - but the extra money paid whilst put of work will be then reduced if you catch my drift.
Can he not stay in the job he's in until he finds new work?
I know that you are looking to move/extend and having a gap in employment will affect this.0 -
I gave them a ring so will just have to wait for info in the post. My husband has applied online for Jsa so is now waiting for an appointment.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
