From economy to which cabin? (WT+, CW, F)0

The trick is to predict the empty flights and to book economy on those.
https://www.ba.com offers upgrades at time of booking, do a search, this will give you an idea.
WT+ is often part of BA weekly exclusive offers log-in to ba.com to get these.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Apart from paying the FULL price for the upgrade, the only way you'll get it is if the aircrafts full and you're deemed SFU (suitable for upgrade) I expect one or two people will say they've managed it for free, but upgrades are as about as likely as rocking horse !!!!!!.0

Where do you want to go/ where from/ and when?
Do you want Premium Economy or Business or First, one way or return?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
The answer varies...
On some flights they offer paid up-grades at check-in: usually on flights where economy is full, and some economy passengers will have to be moved to the front anyway.
On most flights out of Gatwick, you can upgrade to Club class for a fifty pound fee: you do this on-line when yuo check in electronically.
It is sometimes possible to buy an upgrade using air miles, and of course you can buy extra air miles, but they don't come cheap (there is even a service charge for doing this!).0 -
With BA, you should have the opportunity to upgrade at the time of booking.
If you are not a frequent flyer, i.e, BA gold or silver (and not the blue executive club cards which everybody has) then your chances are zilch, as they should be.'We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. My brother-in-law works for Virgin and he says that the days of upgrades are long over for mere mortals. Dressing in a smart suit or whatever these clever journos tell you won't work if the aircraft is full.
If there is space up front then priority is given to Gold then Silver then Red Flying Club Members. Next are travel agents/corporate account flyers. Then it's people on full fare economy tickets. And then the more you've paid for your ticket the higher your already slim chances. So if you've bagged the lowest bargain fare you're not even in with a sniff unless something goes wrong with numbers and you turn up last. The man without a signature.0 -
I paid $500 to travel in Envoy Class with US Airways from Philladelphia to Manchester. I got moved to a nice seat at the front on the plane that was like a bed. It was nice. Flying in cattle class a week on Tuesday. I have joined the frequent flyer club now.0
