USA Customs Declaration Form query

On the USA Customs Declaration Form, question 12 asks
Have you or any family members traveling with you been in close proximity of (such as touching or handling) livestock outside the United States?
I'm also wondering about question 11d - have you visited a farm/ranch/pasture outside the United States?
Has anyone had to answer 'yes' to either of these questions?
If so, can I ask what the result of this was please?
Did it cause any problems?

Whether it caused problems or not, I'd strongly suggest you answer the questions honestly.0

I just wondered whether we should factor in some extra time to our journey for a cross-examination of some kind.
Although, just playing devil's advocate, it occurs to me, how would they know?
Also, does the question mean in the last day? week? month? year? ever in your life?
I might see if my daughter can re-arrange her timetable so she's not near livestock for at least a week or so before our trip, just in case :think:2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

You answer the question asked, which in this case isHave you or any family members traveling with you been in close proximity of (such as touching or handling) livestock outside the United States?
and
have you visited a farm/ranch/pasture outside the United States?0 -
I'd suggest you contact the US embassy and enquire, the long wait and expense of the call is better than the risk of being refused entry.0

We stayed on a farm 6 years ago, how would that be relevant? It's a pointless question without a timescale.
It's probably a question left over from the BSE outbreak, but even so, it's so non-specific it's ridiculous.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Years ago there was an outbreak of something here (maybe foot and mouth) and the US had extra precautions in place. The official info over here mentioned people who had visited or worked on a farm within the past eight weeks however when we got to Florida a lot of people were dismayed that they had added golf courses to the list. As a lot of people were lugging golf bags it was a bit hard to deny.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I'm guessing maybe a check to make sure you're not bringing any soil etc in on shoes etc?
Even if DD can re-arrange her timetable I not sure she can avoid livestock for 8 weeks.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Quite, my thoughts exactly.
All I can find on the CBP website, is mention of not bringing in soil.
As DD will not be bringing any clothing, shoes, bags etc on the trip that she would use when around livestock, I'm hoping this isn't going to be a big issue.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
