I have a fridge freezer plus an old upright freezer kept in the garage, I thought that I see if we could manage with just the fridge freezer for a while and just use the old upright only when needed like Christmas etc.
I switched it off on Saturday morning and by the evening it was all defrosted, clean and dry inside the cabinet so why was my garage floor still wet up to last night (Tuesday)? I've been drying it off with a mop everyday, but the hidden trickle just seemed to carry on, I never thought that there was 'hidden' ice in it's workings. It's not been shut down like this in the 12 years that I've owned it, just quickly defrosted and turned back on so this is a new thing for me, is this normal? if so I think that I'd be best keeping it filled and running all the time,

is it coming from the front around the door or around the back?0

It's from around the back somewhere, it's all nice and dry inside0

Possibly the drip tray at the back is still overflowing. This usually sits on top of the compressor (large football like shape at bottom) and evaporates in the heat generated by the compressor. Or it may be that the ice was inside the lining and is still defrosting out the back.0
