aqua credit card query

hi.. ive just had my first statement, its a 250 pounds credit limit and i spent 228 pounds which i paid in full last tuesday using the giro slip at the bottom of the bill at my bank...however ever since then when i phone for my balance i get the following message

''your balance is zero, the amount due is zero, your available to spend is 22 pounds''

why doesnt it say 250 to spend if ive paid it off in full?

Aqua are a bit of a nightmare, which is a shock because it's Halifax and in turn Lloyds Banking Group.

I wouldn't suggest ever letting your card carry a balance, if you really need to try to keep it £50-£60 away from your limit. They charged me £12 for being £0.07 over the limit (as a result of interest charges and my payment was scheduled for being the next day).

Got it refunded but lesson learned, I have one but almost never use it anymore and intend to close quite soon.
Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.

It means they've received your cheque, but it isn't cleared yet.

When it clears, you'll have £250 available credit to spend.
