I am off to Canada next week and I'm taking my Tomtom as I have managed to borrow some Canada maps for it. We are renting a car but wanted to make sure whether the cigarette lighter sockets to charge the Tomtom over there are the same ones are here?? Otherwise, I'll have to charge it in the hotel and hope the battery lasts out!!

Yup ! ... Exactly the same sockets in UK + Canada + USA, so you shouldn't have a problem.
