Just wondering how many people find food shopping a chore and how many enjoy it? Do you love it to get bargin? Or find it difficult to resist?
I love food, love cooking and enjoy shopping. Its a constant battle with myself to resist spending on little extras that I could really do without.

I like grocery shopping...but only if I go on my own! I get quite stressed if others are with me because it messes up my system lolCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

I only like it when I go bargain hunting at the end of the day - I get a real buzz from buying items as low as 2p and whats more, we get to try different food that we wouldnt normally be able to afford!0

No I don't like food shopping, but, it's good fun to search for the yellow stickers and come out with a trolley full for very little money.
IlonaI love skip diving.

like a bargain and nice to try things that I would not normally go for.
Rather not pay £5 for something I do not like.
Enjoy it more by myself as I can take my time.0 -

I know what you mean. I will quite happily go to 2/3 supermarkets to make sure I get what I want from a shop. And take 'as long as I need' to do my shopping, if someone else is there I feel the decisions are a bit more rushed. I do buy more luxuries/extras/higher brand level when im without my OH but I think my shop is more thorough (sp?) so we dont pop to the local shop or buy take away.0 -
No I'm not keen on food shopping at all and try to do it only once every 7-10 days .Then its usually essentials,0

I never do a proper weekly shop - never done one since I moved into my place 3.5 years ago!
I just buy things as they on offer, yellow stickers, Sainsburys discontinued bargains and for 2% of the time - when I do run out!
What puts me off shopping are other customers. Having chin wags in front of busy areas - in front of the milk, in front of the bananas etc. Screaming kids. Then my latest gripe - customers that put their shopping on the conveyor belt and say they forgot something and walk off. 9 times out of 10, its normally something located the other side of the store and they somehow come back with more than that item they forgot! If its something generic - ask one of the checkout supervisors to get it and they will get it for you. I often do this and ask the supervisors to get a tin of basics peaches.
I hate putting it away afterwards as I put the newer stuff at the back of the cupboard and the older stuff at the front. If I just shove it in the cupboard, the newer stuff will be always be used.0 -
I look forward to a leisurely walk round town on a Saturday with an eye for a bargain. I live close enough to walk in with a trolley so I don't have to worry about parking or how much I have to carry with me. I try to spot the reduced items or best buys and agree that it satisfies the hunter/gatherer in me. I generally cook just once a week and freeze five or six meals for future use. That way nothing gets wasted and I end up with a good selection to choose from. There is a covered market in my town which is good for a few bargains in the later afternoon but I wouldn't plan my day around it but if I still had the family to feed I might very well do so.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
