Decorators Charges?

Hi Guys n Gals

Anyone know how much I would expect to pay for a decorator to paint a ceiling, wallpaper the walls with lining paper and paint it and do the gloss work!

Any decorators wana give me an rough guess before I call anyone in for a price? I reckong the room is about 16 metres square.

I assume your room is 16 square metres; NOT 16 metres square - that would be a BIG room !

For a similar size room, I paid £900; that included labour and material.

Strip existing wallpaper (several layers)
Repair/prepare all surfaces
Size walls
Paper walls - plain lining paper
2 coats of emulsion to walls and ceiling
1 undercoat + 1 gloss coat to all woodwork

I am VERY happy with the end product.

This not a big city/London price.

I had a local decorator to paper 1 wall and he charged £50 as his day rate was £100 and it took 1 morning. The wall he papered was 3.8m long.
