Cheque clearing?

Hi folks. Can anyone tell me how long cheques now take to clear in Halifax Eadycash accounts please?
Its been a while since I put a cheque in my account and im sure they are clearing them quicker now(it used to be 5 or 6 days) and could I pay to have it express cleared with the easycash account?
Thanks

4 working days if deposited via their Immediate Deposit Machines or Express Paying In Envelopes (before 4pm)

Add an extra working day if paid in at the cash machine outside.

If you are uncertain about the cheque leave it in for 6 working days, even though you can withdraw after 4 the cheque can still be returned upto 6 working days.

It is really not worth paying for special clearance - and you would not get the money any earlier. Please read the terms of sending a cheque this way which is available at any bank.
You are paying for the fate of the cheque not clearance.
  • Would not recommend special clearance, as it relies on the postal service and usually takes longer than normal clearance times. 4 working days for a cheque to clear, 6 working days for certainty of fate

4 days with the first day being zero. so technically 5 days with an extra 2 days on top for definite clearance. some places let you withdraw at various points through the clearance
