Hello all,

I have just found out from the manufacturers that the pump fitted by the plumber is completely the wrong type for what it's supposed to do.

I have an email trail asking said plumber exactly what pump I should buy and double-checking I was ordering what he told me.

Do you think there is any chance of recovering costs from him - cost of removing wrong pump, difference between price of wrong and right pump, electrician costs for both? I have a feeling that he won't be offering, so it might well be small claims unless I just swallow several hundred pounds of loss.

Do you have written proof that its the wrong one?

Not at the moment - called the manufacturer and they told me it was the wrong one. Pretty sure they would confirm in writing.
