New House - What Plans?

We have just moved into a new 4 bedroom house which used to have storage heaters but now bees upgraded to a gas central heating system.

The Hob is electric and currently only 2-3 people will be living there on a full time basis.

Which provider and package would best suit us?

We have done a Uswitch search but still unclear as to which would be the best plan and who would be trust worthy as have had some bad stories with npower recently.

Thanks

Try a few other comparison sites too to ensure you get consistent results

Unless you have a reason not to, and considering this is a moneysaving website, presumably you will choose the cheapest?

There is no 'best plan', it depends on kWh usage and region. A comp site with your estimated annual kWh figures will tell you the cheapest in less than a minute.
You will be in a deemed contract with the existing suppliers, so until you register with them for an account and submit your opening reads you cannot commence a switch.

well I am not sure on usage as this is the first time we are having our own house but its a terraced, 4 bedroom house, with 2 bathrooms but only 2 people living in it.

Online say NPower are the best choice but weve only heard negative stories about them and would ideally like to stay away.

I am interested in the EDF Blue saving plan until 2016 but their rates will work out £200 more expensive over the year...

Try a few comparison sites as I said. Most offer the facility to help those who don't know their actual anticipated annual usage, but results may vary as they have to guestimate your anticipated annual usage. Most sites tell you what this guesstimate is, so you can always monitor your usage to check how good it is :)

As posted by macman, hopefully you have registered your occupation date and that day's meter readings with the existing supplier

That the previous owner paid for Gas Central Heating is good news for you,
but just check with the current Elec.supplier that the work was properly completed by having the old ECO7 meter removed and a Standard meter installed in it's place - Sometimes owners forget to have this change made, and even when they do some suppliers don't change the meter, but charge Standard meter tariffs by adding the Night/Day readings on the ECO7 meter together
This is all OK for the original owners, but when they move on the records still say it's an ECO7 meter and it's an ECO 7 tariff that will be charged to the new owners

Use an average of 16,500kWh gas and 3,300 kWh electricity on a comp site.
