Hi everyone,
We recently lost our unborn daughter at 36 weeks and are holding a funeral for her. We have been looking at numbers and there is no way we can afford to pay all of the funeral costs- we can pay about half. So was wondering if there is any benefit we can claim to cover the extra. I want our daughter to have the best we can afford to give her as its the only thing we can do for her. We are both on DLA and ESA ( income related).
Friends and family can help a bit but not much and i cannot get a loan at the mo as I'm in a debt management plan.
any advice would be great thank you xx

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. The Government do pay for some funerals if people are on benefits and cant afford one themselves. Here is the link to the site, it tells you that the parents of a still born baby are eligible and it tells you how to claim. This is section 4, you have to fill in a form and return it.
