I got a broadband modem from e7even which works perfectly on my laptop. When I take the modem to my parents home for them to use it refuses to work. My parents are also signed up with e7even and there phone line is enabled for broadband. I am using the same filter and usb cable but the ADSL light flashes constantly in their house. They have only 1 phone socket.

Can anyone please advise what am I doing wrong.

When you plug in the modem does a bubble come up saying "found new hardware"? You will need the CD that you used to install your modem on your pc - are you using it?

I got a wireless modem so I could link all my computers. My parents bought the modem of me, so they do have a modem. I just checked that it still worked on my laptop.
