Barclaycard interest clarification - 0%

Hi,

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun.

I'm juggling the last 1k of my debt around which should mean I'll be free in Dec, yay!

I have 1k on a 0% card which is due to end next month. My Experian file is healthy and obtaining another 0% wouldn't be a problem but I'd rather not.

I have a Barclaycard with a 0% promo offer due to end Dec 2013 however I've just noticed they're offering a balance transfer offer of 6.9% too - which could work out quite nicely for the last 1k.

My question is...

If I transfer 1k onto my BC which is currently 0% - will my original balance still remain at 0% with 6.9% being charged on the £1000? Or will it all default to 6.9?

I've just got off the phone to BC who seem to think the interest will be split; 0% on my original and 6.9% on my new transfer.

I'm not entirely convinced and want some clarification before I proceed and potentially lose my 0%.

Anyone seen/taken advantage of this offer who can comment?

Thanks :-)

Just called through again and had it confirmed by a lovely lady who gave me a lot more confidence than the chap before.

Seems you've got your answer now anyway, but yes they will be split. So if, for example, you had £1000 at 0% and you then transferred another £1000 at 6.9% you'd just pay the 6.9% on the second £1000. The original amount would remain at 0% until that deal expires and would then switch to your standard APR :)
