Credit Card Question

Hi all, hope all is well.

Just a quick question.

I have 4 credit cards.

Barclaycard = £4160 / Credit Limit = £7700 (the reason why this is high is because I have transferred some money to my current account to get a car as my lease run out and didn't want to re-lease.)

Virgin = £300/ Credit Limit = £6200

Marks and Spencers = £60 / Credit Limit = £4000

RBS = £1300 / Credit Limit = £4800

My last application was April for a balance transfer. I don't really need to get another card as I am not paying any interest at the moment.

I just thought I might go for the Halifax 15 months 0% purchases card to just use for purchases and pay back.

My question is, should I close my Marks and Spencer one before applying for the Halifax one or keep it as my credit utilisation is 27% with it and 32% without it. On the other hand if I don't close it, will they see it as me having too much readily available credit?

I hear people having 10 different cards and say it is not a problem. My credit rating is very good and I have never missed any payments.

Or do I just forget the idea?

Thanks

    I think there is very little difference between 27% and 32% as both figures are pretty low.
    Regarding the total available credit and other people with 10 card it makes sense only if considered together with your/their annual income.

    Thanks for the reply.

    So do you think I should go ahead and apply?
