Anyone else use Gmail for comping? They have just updated it and now it seems there are 3 different tabs your emails get sent to depending on what they are. So now it seem I will have to trawl through 3 different tabs plus my spam folder to check for wins - no fun.

Anyone else? Anyways around it?

Very annoying isn't it! I have the Gmail app on my phone and managed to get round it by going to the settings and then unchecking the tickboxes for the new tabs, which removed them entirely from my Gmail. I'm not sure how to do it via a computer as the new tabs aren't there on mine anymore but have a look around - it can be done!

I've just logged in to see the change.

I believe you can remove the tabs but I'm off out so will have a tinker with it later

Hi,

Press the + sign at the right of your tabs, and un-tick the selected ones (promotions and social I think they are). Primary will stay ticked but tabs won't show in your inbox

I hadn't noticed this, will have to go check I have no wem's hiding anywhere.

if you go to the cog, then settings, then inbox there should be a bit that says promos, social, etc untick all the boxes except primary

I use Gmail but I didn't know there were new tabs as I use an email client (Thunderbird) to download my emails.

It is always worth periodically checking the webmail for your Gmail as Gmail does not dowloand items in spam to Thunderbird or Outlook. Just in case any WEMs go to your Spam!

I actually prefer it like this, splits up random newsletters to normal/important ones.

Yes, this is exactly what I did, so it's back the way it was before.

I usually click on the "spam" box in Thunderbird after checking my normal emails and then it downloads them when I have done.
