Aldi Parking Eye parking ticket for disabled 86 yrs old - help please

Options
My 86 yr old grandmother when to Aldi with her other elderly friend. There were no disabled bays(she has a badge) so parked in normal bay. They went inside, walked around at there usual slow speed and paid for shopping. They then left the carpark after 1hr 40mins. My gran now has a parking ticket for overstaying for 10mins.

What should I do?

FYI - a couple of years ago she also got a parking ticket from Aldi Parking Eye. That time she was in a disabled bay and displaying her badge, again she was only over the time by a less than 30mins and she was doing her shopping there. After reading this website, I told her to ignore the letters, she did and nothing ever happened after the third letter they sent. But now I have read the rules have changed.

Complain to Aldi, they can and do get these overturned. Their Facebook page is overrun with complaints about Parking Eye.

Also put an appeal in to Parking Eye, they will reject it but you can then go to POPLA the independent appeal service.

Our success rate against Parking Eye at POPLA current stands at about 100% :rotfl:

Wait for Coupon mad to post on this. She is well versed on disabled parking and whilst she may well say as Waamo she is likely to have other things up her sleeve.

Yes wait for Coupon Mad on the first stage challenge to them, she has a good initial letter that will help more than the generic template letter I advise to send.

And please post this on Aldi's Facebook page, they advise to email them at customer-services@aldi.co.uk

If you have access to a scanner, post a picture up on their facebook page with the explanation of what stunt they have pulled to a disabled customer.
Aldi should have had more sense than to get in to bed with these crooks and scam artists and they will pay the price.
    Be happy...;)

Here you go, this is me posting as SchoolRunMum on pepipoo in post #13:

Email a copy to both Aldi Customer Services and to the PPC, with a copy of any recent Aldi receipts too if you want it easily cancelled.

And here's the facebook thread you may have missed, includes Aldi's email address and their promise to sort out such complaints!

There's also a phone number on there where it's possible to get these cancelled over the phone if you are insistent. Make it obvious you've read the facebook posts and are DISGUSTED at this treatment of an elderly customer yet again.

I recall reading on the parking prankster's page that Aldi have already been losing customers based on their PPCs' actions toward elderly people in particular. This kind of scenario is the last thing they would want right now.
