Morning all,
Does anyone know if a Tmobile Rep hangs around the forum. I have a problem that I need help with:
2009, I had a Tmobile phone, that come to the end of its contract. I obtained the PAC code, recieved my final bill which was paid by DD and off I went to Vodafone. So as far as i was concerned me and Tmobile were finished. They never collected any further DD's although DD remained live for a number of years after, they never sent any further bills, texts, correspondance or anything. All good ???? Well, not until yesterday - i obtained a copy of my credit file to find a BIG RED DEFAULT lurking in there for a small sum from Tmobile since 2009....
I tried to contact Tmob Cust Services, but the idiot on the end of the phone was very "computer says no" - Without a mobile number or account number i cant do anything for you.
The number is old and gone and for the life of me i cannot remember it BUT - If I owe them money, fine I'll pay it, but surely you've gotta ask me for it, or take it by DD like you did for all the other months i was with you!!!
So, Im on here to see if there is a sensible Tmobile person that can help me sort this out, and get shot of the FILTY RED MARK that should not be there!!! :T:T
Any offers of help is much appreciated. :A

So you got a letter from Tmobile saying your contract had finished?0

There is an Orange/T-mobile rep on here, but it doesn't look like they have been arssed to log on and help anyone for over 2 years now. Shows how much they care about their customers on here.Still rolling rolling rolling......

No, not a letter saying the contract had finished. Just had my normal monthly bill showing the amount to be taken by DD and the date it would be taken - This was the last correspondance I had from them. Nothing out of the ordinary as I knew this was the last bill, or so I thought!
The amount showing on the default is 1 months tariff, indicating that I owed 1 more months bill from that of the above..... But no bill arrived, and no DD was ever taken, even thought the DD was still live for some months after.0 -

That just about sums them up, and they wonder why people fled from them to their competitors!!!!0 -
Did you use the PAC code, your contract is only cancelled when you use your PAC code.0

I was just logging on here to post a similar thread! Our story is pretty much the same, but with Orange, and not T-Mobile... My partner ended his contract with Orange last summer. He ended it in good time, they tried to talk him into staying and he said no, he checked with them if everything would then be up to date and they said yes. We've never heard from them since.
He went last week to apply for a travel credit card and he got turned down. He was very puzzled by this as this is a man who has never been in debt with anyone! He signed up tonight to check his credit history and there was a big red mark next to Orange saying he owed one month's bill! He's going to speak to Orange on Monday (probably via India  ) but he's not expecting it to go anywhere.
How can this be struck his credit rating? And why are companies getting away with this!?0 -
They get away with it because there is no real punishment for screwing someone's credit file in this way. You can go through ombudsman or sue, but the cards are stacked against the consumer. Hence there is no motivation for businesses to clean up their act.Still rolling rolling rolling......

Put a complaint in in writing to them. Tell them they are in breach of the Data Protection Act and if they fail to correct your credit file within 28 days you will take it to the Information Commissioner.
BTW: If ever I get a Indian call center and I am not satisfied with the outcome, I always ask to be put through to a UK call center manager. If they say they don't have one I tell them I spoke to someone in the UK recently at X company so I know they do.0 -
Thank you. He rang them last week and he spoke to someone very helpful who said that they could find no record of any debt against his name! Thankfully, he still knew his old number so they could find the account straight away. So no he's got to go into an EE shop (as they now own Orange) and see if maybe they can shed some light on this alleged debt. What a faff!0

A shop is no use - they cannot access any system that is not retail based. DDs expire 13 months following the last debit if not previously cancelled. As to tracing it down.
Get a copy of your credit file this will provide all the info to tel the network and they can take it from there.0
