Car park fine

I work for the NHS and have done for 11 years. I used to pay £2 a month for parking which recently went up to £10 a month. Parking became very difficult and was taken over by a private parking company.
I once parked on double yellow lines within the hospital not blocking anyone in or causing an obstruction but still got a ticket.. I reluctantly paid the £30 fine after I received a letter from the debt collectors.
In jan this year I parked in staff parking but did not display my permit and got a ticket.
6 months later I am still getting letters from dept collectors called zenith.
It is very hard to ignore but my work colleagues assure me I should not pay it, which I agree with and hope I am doing the right thing.

You're past the point of no return regarding POPLA (assuming you're based in England or Wales), but these big scary debt collectors are nothing more than office grunts. They have no power to declare their invoice to you as a "debt".
If they issue court papers then don't panic, come back on here or go to Pepipoo and they will help you draft a basic defence. It is highly likely that showing you mean business and aren't scared of going to court (which they're counting on) will make them no-show the case.
Edit: by the way, I'd remove your name from your post, as PPCs do check these forums.0 -
Why is it hard to ignore?
Last time debt collectors were chasing me I never responded to them at all, I simply harassed and teased their principal every time I received a letter from the debt collectors. The silly-billys kept writing serious, po-faced replys to every mickey-taking email I sent them, telling me in sonorous terms that the debt must be paid.
