Hi,
Please forgive my newbie ness to these forums, but I'm having a bit of a panic!
I received a ukcps parking fine over a month ago, and was advised to ignore, not paying the £60 fine.
I have now had a letter through, after the company got my details from the DVLA, asking for the £100 full payment.
I'm really worried, and scared that I don't have the time or strength to fight it....any advice please?
Thanks in advance, sorry if it has already been posted on here.

It's not a fine, it's a speculative invoice. Which country did this happen in?0

Happened in the UK.....0

Yes, but which country? There are different things that need to be done in NI and Scotland compared to in England and Wales.0

Sorry, it was in England.0

Did you receive this letter before day 56 after parking, and over 18?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Bad luck - ignoring the invoice is recommended only in Scotland (probably NI too) since the POFA Act was passed last year. Nethertheless the PPC are still as likely to get your money as I am to play Frisbee with Richard Branson on the moon.
They are now pursuing the RK of the vehicle rather than the driver. Some posts I have read suggest identifying the driver so that the PPC has to start the process over again, then you can use POPLA to appeal (with advice from here, this is pretty much a win-win). Wait until the posters with more experience post before taking further action.0 -

Okay just send this to them to get a popla verification code to appeal independently

Dear UKCPS,
In reference to the speculative invoice xxxxxx dated xxxxxx, the keeper denies all liability to your company as it is an unlawful punitive charge, thus a penalty, and that you have insufficient authorisation to pursue any motorists. If you reject this challenge the keeper requires within 35 days a popla verification code for them to appeal independently, per Version 3 of the BPA Code of Practice.
The keeper has nothing further to add, and will not respond to any generic correspondence from your company unless it contains the popla code, furthermore the keeper is fully aware that you must pay £27+Vat for this, so don't forget!
The challenge will be deemed accepted if there is no popla code on any rejection that you supply within the time-frame stipulated above.
Yours Faithfully

Thankyou so much, what's the next step for appeals?0

The above will be rejected, the next step is that they must give you a popla verification code to appeal independently. They may come back with words to the effect that this is not a legit appeal. It's complete rubbish there is nothing in the bpa Code of Practice outlining what a valid appeal is, and certainly nothing under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
