Being Overcharged twice!

Bought a extracter fan from homebase and it was £34.99 marked up at. Went to the till, was charged £39.99. I pointed it out to the cashier, her attitude was 'Sigh!', err, and called for an assistant. I went with him and showed him where i got the fan from and it's price quite clearly showing £34.99. He argued that the fan displaying £34.99 was different to the one i purchased! I argued back stating 'what was different?', he got up, walked off back to the till, and I followed him.
He asked for my debit card, and refunded the price, and then charged me £34.99.
Not even an apology!!

Got in car, went to buy a friend a 'new house card', found one in local co-op, their choice wasn't brill, but found a nice one. Checked the price code against the back of the card, went to the till, and AGAIN overcharged by 50p!! He too tried to say, it was correct, as the till came up with the price. I said, follow me....and showed him the code that matched the price. Again, refunded the difference, but again, no SORRY!!!
URGH!!
Peeps, check ur receipts and double check u have been charged, what they display.
I guess for the latter overcharge, it's peeps like me, (who if i hadnt realised the mistake), pay for all their 'buy one get one free' offers!

I agree that this is a real pain in the cocyx but do remember that the price on the contract to purchase is determined at the checkout - not by the price on the shelves. But I agree 100% about giving them loads of stick if the price is not the same as expected - although it is advisable to only do this if the shelf price is higher ;D
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Ivan, i understood that the price that was displayed on the shelf was the price they had to see it to u at? Not what the till says, they cant charge u two diff prices?0

From what i understood on over-charging is that the price on the shelf is an invite to sell you the product at that price. Not what the till says. But if it is a mis-price thay can withdraw the item from sale and refuse to sell it, although must stores wont unless its a huge price difference.
Also if you notice any wrongly priced items and they refuse to sell them call trading standards and they will investigate and the store could get a wacking fine!! I think its a £1000 an item so 10 items on shelf wrongly priced 10k fine0
