Just done our checkout with and agent and they have said they will pay deposit (less any deductions) on saturday and ring us the following monday with the figure!
We wasnt asked to sign anything on checkout, should we have?
Also because they are paying the deposit on saturday before telling us the amount, what happens if we dispute?
I was under the impression if we disputed then the whole bond went to the TDS and they held it
bond is registered.

I've never done a check out with an agent present before and i've lived in 4 rental properties. I have had a signed receipt for keys but 3 out of the 4 times i've posted keys through agents letterbox after hours.
As far as deposit deductions is concerned, they should agree any deductions with you before hand in case you want to dispute it. I have recently had a deposit back from DPS and it was done online, agent entered figure and any deductions then I had to log in and agree it or dispute it. Luckily there were no deductions and money was transferred into my bank.0
