The following additional terms and conditions form part of the promotion information for the above promotion, and should be read in conjunction with Discovery’s Competition General Terms and Conditions:

By entering this competition, the entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and to have agreed to be bound by them.
The competition is open to UK residents excluding employees of Promoter and their families, the Promoter's agents or anyone professionally associated with the promotion. Only one entry per person.
Entrants must be eighteen (18) years old and above. Proof of identification may be required at the request of the Promoter.
Entrants expressly declare and represent that (i) they submit to English law and jurisdiction in participating in this competition and (ii) they are individuals and not a company or any professional and/or commercial entity.
The competition will run from Sunday 14th July 2013 to Wednesday 14th August 2013. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is 23:45 on Wednesday 14th August 2013.
By entering, the winners agree to participate in any publicity or promotional activities as may be reasonably required by the Promoter. Further the Promoter reserves the right to use the names of winners in any publicity.

· Return travel and accommodation for four people to Alcudia, Mallorca including:
o Return flights for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children (under 18)) to Mallorca

o 7 Nights accommodation at the Iberostar Ciudad Blanca Hotel
o Breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks for 4 people each day at your hotel

The Prize must be taken and the trip completed between [14/08/13] and [14/08/14]. Travel will be subject to availability and blackout periods determined by Promoter or the travel service provider in its sole discretion and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays, Thanks giving and Bank Holidays (both UK and USA).
Departure airport used will be dependent on the direct availability from the winners nearest available international airport, which may not necessarily be the closest.
Non UK passports holders may need a visa for this destination, which they should arrange with the Embassy at their own expense including all taxes and surcharges.
Travel insurance is subject to normal terms of acceptance. Pre-existing medical conditions may not be covered. No age restrictions apply.
The Prize winner will be notified of the exact travel details. The dates of the trip may be subject to change for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control. In the event of any rescheduling of the trip, alternative travel dates will be offered to the winner.
Any plane tickets which may form part of the Prize will not qualify for air-miles programmes of any airline company. Once the plane tickets have been issued, they will not be modified except by the Promoter. The Prize may not be combined with any other promotions or special offers.
The winner and guests must travel together in all instances, on the same dates and time, take the same flight and share the same rooms in all provided accommodation. The winner will forgo the Prize in totality if the winner fails to attend the scheduled flight, and the Promoters and all prize sponsors shall have no further obligation to the winner. The Promoters and all prize sponsors have no legal obligation to the winner’s guests, and the winner is responsible for his/her guests at all times, including ensuring that the guests are present and on time for all scheduled travel. Hotel is classed as a 4 Star and is based on 2 adults and 2 children (under 18) sharing a family apartment with en-suite bathroom on an all-inclusive basis.
At least one guest must be over the age of 21.
All-inclusive covers: Drinks (soft drinks, water, beer and spirits) from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 midnight; Meals at different hotel restaurants from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Snacks from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The best brand-name national and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the hotel's bars are available free of charge. International alcoholic brands (EJ. Ricard, Magno, Verterano, Marie-Brizard, William Lausson, Habana añejo3) are available at an extra charge.
The draw will take place on [15/08/13]. The winner will be contacted by post, telephone or email within 2 days of the draw. The winner must claim their prize within 10 days of the notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these terms and conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to terminate or modify the competition, modify these terms and conditions prior to the closing date, vary details of the prize, or substitute a prize of equivalent value should unforeseen circumstances require it. The Promoter is entitled to terminate or modify the competition or to modify these rules prior to the closing date by prior notice.
The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable and there is no cash alternative in whole or in part. Sorry to bump, but what do people make of the above in the T&Cs?
What does 'excludes Xmas, school holidays etc' refer to the travel or the blackouts?
Could this be one of those 'family' holidays that many families can't take without taking their kids out of school?
I'll try asking them, but not optimistic about getting a response!
ETA: I didn't get any response to the email, but I've just noticed that they've changed the caption on the comp page to 'win a holiday for 4 Mallorca'. So, question answered - not a family holiday!0 -
