    It depends on how long the mortgage took to get an offer. From when you get an offer i would say 4-6 weeks is what it should be taking if you have a decent solicitor. If you dont then who knows.

    As to the previous poster who said he will complete when hes good and ready - go and knock on his door with a 10ft bloke stood behind you and ask him to read your email back to you with his response, then ask what date that means... Cheeky git your paying him!

    OP, I note you're seeing the seller at the weekend. You might want to speak to your conveyancer tomorrow to find out whether they have sent any queries to the seller's solicitor and are still waiting for them. If the replies are still awaited, ask the seller to contact their solicitor.

    You could also ask the seller whether they have been given the draft contract, property information form and fixtures / fittings form to complete by their solicitor yet - if they have been given them, have they completed and returned them yet?

    We were issued a mortgage offer a month ago...and the solicitor was recommended to us by a friend...

    I think we will just keep pestering until decisions are made!

    I guess its just going to be a matter of keeping on their backs and hoping for the best.

    Surly there cant be much to do now? What could possibly take 8 weeks?
