Parking ticket from Edinburgh council using Ringo. Is it fair?

I should have really said this before, but I forgot On 14/06/13, I was in Edinburgh and I parked outside the national museum of Scotland
I parked on a single yellow line, outside the museum, and directly above me, there was a sign saying to pay for your parking (via Ringo) and so I did. I also saw a lot of cars parked in that area as well
I always did think that single yellow lines had a specific time allowance, BUT the sign above me just told me to go and pay for the parking
Inside the museum, I extended the time. I paid via my phone. When I got back to my car, I had a minute left on the time I paid for, and I saw a parking ticket
Here is the parking ticket:

Here is the time I came back (I extended it inside)

And I realise that I could have just made my watch look like it was before the time that I paid for, so here's the Ringo app showing that I had one minute left:

Ordinarily I wouldn't have parked on a single yellow line, assuming that single yellow lines are timed areas, but the sign directly above (I should have really got pictures of that, and I didn't) me told me to pay near the paypoint, and there were other cars (non disabled) parked in the same area as well, so I thought I'd be in the clear
I got a parking ticket from the city of edinburgh council
Should I pay, or should I appeal?

post on pepipoo.com as well with pics of both sides of the ticket remove personal details, plus pic of signs/lines if possible. Make copies of the ringo details as well.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Thanks. This is all I have apart from something that came today. I think I might have lost that initial one....0
