Purchased a Braun epilator fom Argos-no uk plug!

Just bought an epilator from Argos-not mentioned anywhere in description it has a two pin plug. I got it home to find that out. It didn't come with an adaptor either!
Is this allowed? I m a bit miffed as it was £40, least I coud expect was to use it!

Are you saying it has a two pin plug?
If so, then that's fine.

Argos have answered your question on their website:All electric shavers, epilators, toothbrushes, etc, come with a two pin plug. Because such items are often used in wet and steamy environments - such as the AC power supply point in hotel bathrooms - the design of a two pin plug ensures the user will not be electrocuted if there is an electrical short. Among other things, it is a safety feature.
To use a two pin plug in a normal three pin socket, you will need to purchase a two pin plug adaptor. You fit the two pin pug into the adaptor, then plug the adaptor into a mains socket. I hope this helps.

It's intended to be used in the bathroom with a (2-pin) shaver outlet.
You can also buy an adaptor very cheaply c. £1 in many supermarkets and poundshops.

The reason why it is a 2-pin plug is because the appliance is double-insulated and has no exposed metal parts. It is those design features that offer protection (plus the isolating capability of a shaver outlet).0 -
Shove a xsrewdriver into the earth on the mains socket (top middle hole) and you can the plug in the two pin plug0
