Help pls next step fd saying no evidence

Hi
I've been told by fd that I had ppi on cc and flexi loan and they sent me copies of agreement but they have no transactional data so have no proof of ins being paid.
Is there anything I can do
Thanks

    Statements back to 2005

    They go back to 98 & 99.
I suppose its game over :(
  • I had a successful complaint with FD re loans going back to 1997. But they were a series of consolidated ones up to 2008 so they cd evaluate them

I also asked about a cc taken out in 1997 but was told no records

Sorry but based on what they told me , inclined to agree it game over.

If the firm no longer holds statements showing you actually paid it or not they are required to use any statements you hold as evidence.

If neither you or they hold any records then its game over with credit cards. With loans, they are required to recalculate the amounts as the terms can be easily recreated. That isnt possible with credit cards as they wont know if you cleared your balance that month or how much you borrowed. i.e. if you paid off in full each month then you would never had paid a penny in PPI despite it being an active option on the account.

The loan was a flexi loan does that make a diff
    Thanks
  • No difference. I had one as well back on 97

Fd are fair and handled my complaints in a fast efficient manner

Sorry to say it but as they have no back data( my sar asked for statements from 97 ono but they cd only provide from 05 ono) they are being truthful and you need to let this one go
