Advice needed please :)

Back in April I was one of the competition winners with Big Issue and I won the 3 Game of Thrones books and the dvd boxset (I think this was just for series 1 but I am not 100% sure).

Two of the books arrived but the third never did and neither did the boxset.

I emailed the Big Issue and they were really helpful and said they would try track with Royal Mail (which they have since said they have had no luck with) but to make up for it I could keep an eye on the competitions that they are running and when I see a prize I would like instead email them and they will order an extra one for me.

I am so grateful for this but since then there has been no prizes at all that I'm really remotely interested in winning (apart from a trip to Budapest this week which I seriously doubt they would let me have lol). Also, after speaking to winners of the same prize on here it seems no one received the complete prize so it seems that perhaps they ran a competition that they couldn't then fulfill?

My question really is, do I have more patience and keep holding on and see if they do run a prize that I would like, do I email them again and insist that they fulfill my original prize, or do I just give up since I received part of my prize anyway?

If they can order an 'extra' prize from a new competition, can't they equally just reorder what they were supposed to send you?? GoT is not hard to get hold of after all...

I was one of the winners too, got the first 2 books, and eventually the 3rd, but to "compensate" not getting the dvd's he sent me the twilight zone dvd set, still not received the original dvd set, think i'll email him again aswell

Just been through the emails he sent, and realised he said he had an extra copy of the twilight dvds and has hidden them ready to post to me, and then when they hadn't arrived I contacted him again for him to say I sent your details to the pr company to send you a copy, seems were both being fobbed off, have sent him another email and will see what he says!

Hmm it does seem that way. So annoying, when he first said he would send me another prize of my choice I was quite grateful but I don't really want to take a prize that I don't really want just for the sake of it! Plus most of the comps have been tickets for festivals that I wouldn't have been able to go to.

I'm going to send him an email tonight Ratgirl, will let you know how I get on!

I have won with them before, my prize didn't turn up, then when they sent a replacement of a different prize, one of the two of the dvds were missing, including a series he promised me!

Just got another email from him!!

I just called round our other offices by chance to see if by chance your parcel had been returned and it has!

Apologies, i have asked for the dvd to be posted to me and i will post it to you next week.

If you could let me know who the other person is who didnt receive the dvd then i will get in touch with them to help.

Thanks for highlighting this. It has got me wondering - if they are offering current competition prizes to unfulfilled winners, does that mean we're wasting our time entering them?

I understand this wouldn't really be an issue if a number of prizes were on offer in one competition, but if I was then entering a competition for, say, a trip to Budapest, I would be wasting my time entering if this was on offer to unfulfilled winners first (does this make sense?).
