I agree, I have had a few free trials and I make sure I cancel in plenty of time so as not to get charged for next month. when you are finished delete all titles from your list before you post discs back (they will e-mail to request you add titles to your list but just ignore this) and then once they have been received cancel......
Exactly, the people that have problems cancelling are just not being careful enough. If you send them back in time and double check your account a few days before the date you will be fine. I've cancelled a few times, it's easy.
Compared to Sky movies or going to a rental place and paying up to £3.50 a time it's great value for money, even if you only watch one or two a week.
To anyone put off by the moaners I would say, give it a go, just be sensible and realistic when you come to cancel.0 -

"The ASA also upheld complaints against LOVEFiLM for an insert and e-mail offered which promised "Unlimited" DVD rentals. The ASA agreed with complainants, that as LOVEFiLM did not state that the service was subject to a fair usage policy or t the limitation of the number of discs users could hold at one time, that the ads were misleading."
Just do a google search and see how many people are complaining about lovefilm not closing accounts when instructed to.
Also lovefilm are currently having legal troubles due to them renting some retail only discs. Now whats interesting there is that if they should lose they will have to stop renting 76% of their stock. See how many rentals turn up then.
If anybody wants to try them then go ahead by all means its your choice but from this thread alone you can see they have more enemies than supporters.
As for cancelling, well I sent all my discs back and cancelled with 3 weeks to go, deleted all titles from my queue. 2 days later I get a Benny Hill disc through the door, I telephoned them (after struggling to find a phone number for them, have a try yourself) to be told that it takes a few hours for the cancellation to go through and because I had no titles in my queue they sent me one of their choice (which it says in their conditions they can't do) the lady on the phone told me to send the disc back and I would not be charged. However it seems that for the first time in 8 months that one disc got lost in the post (yeah right) they charged me a further 2 months then I closed my bank account. Months later I get demands from lovefilm for fees which I ignore.
While I was with them their service was terrible which is why I cancelled in the first place.
So......If you do decide to take out a trial read all the information first, and ask yourself why they need your direct debit details/cc for a "free" trial.Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive0 -
