    For those getting private/occupational pensions, IB is affected for new claimants not recieving DLA (Care) at the highest rate.

    DLA can only be paid after you have had the disability for 3 months, and then only if it is a disability that will last longer then the next 6 months, at least.

    Unless the knee problem is a long term thing, then the chances of getting DLA are slim to zero.
