IIDB stopped without assesment

I checked my account yesterday to find that my industrial injuries payment had not been paid in, I called them and was told that my assessment ended on july 10th and it was clearly stated in my acceptance letter 2 years ago.

They advised that my JSA should automatically reinstate itself when payments stop

I explained that my medical/reassessment is not until 8th August, but they said that the file had been sent to atos back in may and they can do nothing about the appointment schedule.

I am also on JSA but the IIDB is deducted from this, i receive 21.30 pw jsa

I also receive DLA care and mobility which is due on 9th august

I contacted job centre but they say it can take up to 5 weeks for it to be sorted, by which time i would have had my medical, so effectively there is nothing they can do..

I am so very worried, i cannot cope on 21.30 for the next 5 weeks - my DLA will go towards my mortgage payment.

any advice please where i can go from here

Are you on income related JSA? If so you can apply for help with the interest payments on your mortgage. Called SMI - you do not say if you get this already, so if not worth getting hold of a MI12 I think it is.

yes i am on income based JSA and i dont get any mortgage interest paid, so i will look into it.

I am just at a loss to think how to survive the next month or so with 21.30, i really am at my wits end, and no matter how many times i call JCP it seems nobody can help or advise me.

It seems that one of my posts has been deleted???

I did comment on the fact as to why you are actually in this position.

Am I right? You have been claiming IIDB as well as getting a 'top up' of income via means tested JSA?

Why? What is the point? You might just as well claim JSA and be done with it. You will get the same money but with no medicals etc to go through.

As you say that your JSA is still being reduced even though that the IIDB has stopped??

Why haven't you asked the Jobcentre to start paying the JSA in full until you hear what, if any, award you might get from the IIDB claim?
