P46 Form Word Document

Hi all
I have registered on here hoping to get some help. I think this is the correct sub-forum so here goes...
I am starting a new job in just over a weeks time. They want me to fill in a P46 form and email it to them but they have sent it me in a PDF file which doesnt allow you to edit it and put my info in.
I have googled and trawled the HMRC website but I cannot find a P46 form in a Word document. I have emailed my new employer and they don't have them, and the post office doesnt have any physical copies to give me.
Unless I can find somebody with a printer or somebody can point me in the direction of a P46 in a Microsoft Word document, or provide me with the relevant email for HMRC?
Their site is a bit of a maze, I cannot find any email addresses.
Thanks for any help.
Tom

You could go to the local libary & print one off.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

HMRC rarely communicate by email, hence the lack of email addresses. It is not a secure method in which to transport information, so they don't use it externally.
Why not call them, or have your soon to be employer post one to you, or pick one up from your place of work? They must have a printer.
Failing that, email the company back and advise what you have done on here. There is always a way around it, it will just mean you are likely to be put on emergency tax until they have it back and processed.0 -
Two very good suggestions there. I will have to try the library if all else fails as I don't have a current place of work unfortunately.
I have been told to either post or email the P46 with another form I have to fill in. I would prefer to email it as it is much easier and faster.
Obviously I'm grateful for the job and can't afford to be picky. Just a little baffled by how hard it is to find a simple form in a Microsoft Word document.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Feel free to keep them coming as I am open to options and other suggestions. I just hope that the library doesn't make me register with them to use their computers to print. I have enough forms to fill out haha.0 -
The P46 requires a signature and so you'd need to print it to sign it and then scan it back in to email it back0

The following link is to the Starter Checklist which has replaced the P46. Has all the details that were on the old P46, and can be completed and emailed.

Thanks for the help everyone. So far I have emailed them a scanned copy of my P45 and they have passed it on to their payroll department.
Hopefully this should be able to substitute the P46 therefore I won't need to fill it in with any luck.0 -
Tommo, don't forget to take the part 2 & 3 of the P45 with you on your first day as they will need to send that off to HMRC. They could also ask you to fill out P46 on your first day. it's not the end of the world if you do.
As a temporary worker I frequently fill in P46s on my first day and the P45 catches me up eventually.
Good Luck in your new job!

Thank you. It is temporary work through an agency but I will never see agency representatives in person as I am working for another company via the agency if that makes sense. All of the arrangements with the agency were done via email. So I'm not sure if that company will want to see my P45 etc?
Nevertheless I will take them with me anyway as it is better to be prepared and not need them.0 -

Who is going to pay you? The agency or the company where you will be working?0 -

The agency. I have filled in a bank details form and I am sending that along with scans of my p45, my national insurance number card and birth certificate tomorrow.
I will ask them to acknowledge receipt of these and let me know if they are not acceptable. They also wanted a passport but as I do not have one I have had to send my birth certificate.0
