I,ve tried everywhere to get a new cable for this but all the online companies (part master, 4ourhouse etc) don't recognise the model number. Does anyone know where I am likely to get one? I rang the company who produce the BBQ (Salton) and even they don't stock it. They said try DIY store. No dice there either.

Ok, look, had 1 brand new 1 of these mothballed for years, only recently started using it.
Dam good item it is too.
Point is, I'm looking at it at the mo, it does not have a detachable cable, it is hard wired in effect.
This means it just needs a repair man to fit it with a new cable, assuming what you say is correct, ie, it does need a new cable.
Local tv repairer, even computer repairer will do it for little I'm sure.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Thanks for reply. It isn't hard wired though. It's a separate cable with one probe on the end with a round thermostat on it that slots into the side of the grill. Maybe yours is a different model. Ours is a large round grill with a domed removable lid. I think its about a 13 person capacity. They still make a sell them but not the spare parts it seems. Thanks anyway:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

It is a different model, still called a George Foreman grill though, infact I didn't know they did more than the version I have.
Mine isn't a 13 person 1. It would take a good steak or a couple of chicken breasts, (to be honest that is all it gets used for).
Anyway my version is hard wired, so sorry I can't help, but if you post up a picture someone may know of something interchangeable;)
Edited to say;
Just re read your title, as I said I was thinking grill, hence the confusion, advice above still stands though.
At least now I can get the visual image of a 13 man grill out of my head :rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Cable oughtn't be specific to any particular machine, but be fitted quickly and easily by any electrician (or as a home job if you're confident).
Is it literally cable you're after?0 -
Please upload a picture of this cable with the probe."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I can't figure out how to upload a photo.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

With all damage limitations on, leave the thermo lead out and judge by eye, the way your grandma did, (hope that comes over innocently enough?)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

It's possible the thermostat is a standardish part with a standard fitting?
Try uploading a photo to flickr/picassa/postimage.org/whatever, then post the link here, maybe an electrician can recognise a compatible part?0 -

You need a host to post the pictures, try Imbur, you also need to thank those that have tried to help you:pI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
