Sorry to bump the thread but I have just been to my local auction house to pick some stuff up. I was approached by a TV researcher as following the success of the programme they're thinking of doing a mini series.

The lady had a good chat and asked if I would be interested in taking part

I don't think I'm confident enough to go on TV plus I'm very new to this buying and selling malarkey.

I'll look forward to the series though.
As far as I know there are a few similar in the pipeline. One is more of a game show - bargain hunt type thing.

I'd worry about the type of people they'd get on. In my experience the canniest buyers are generally the quietest people at an auction. I don't know any buyer that would go on TV to highlight an auction they were earning good money at. That said in the show that has been on no one made any money anyway.

If any TV people are reading this thread, in my experience the best auction going characters are from Yorkshire. There are always plenty of characters that look like they should be selling the Big Issue carrying wads of cash around with them.

I'd rather like to see Antiques Roadshow presented by straight-talking Yorkshire folk...

Your reply should be. Are you (the lady that approached you) working for free, are the commercial company that are doing the programme, doing it for free and so how much will you be paying me.

And if they say nothing, well the answer should be, you aren't working for nothing, the programme producers aren't working for nothing, so why should I?

Exactly the response I am tempted to give when we have the Antiques Roadtrip crew in asking us to give away stock as it is for charity.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
