Length Of Time Required For Switching?
Options
Hi my 'Blue + Price Promise Sept 2013' with EDF will be coming to an end, thinking of Scottish Power' next who say it takes 5 weeks from the date you entered into the contract to complete the switch.
Would you say I could leave it for now? Or switch now, the completion may take longer?
Thx

It typically takes 4-6 weeks to change supplier, but it may occur in as little as 3 weeks.
If you want to pay more for your energy in the next 3-6 weeks, switch now as there are no early exit fees with EDF Blue0 -
Hi thx......... just want to try & keep EDF's cheaper tariff for as long as possible before the switch.joe2cool0

i am leaving EDF and going onto NPowers fixed deal until Feb 2015. What I like is I can then pay quarterly by dd and then I do not have to bother about the supplier raising or lowering the dd each month.0

OK..... Like to do a reading each mth, due to past wrong bills calculated, so don't mind DD each mth. Not sure about NPowers customer service though?
'am also considering 'ISupplyEnergy', wonder if anyone's got experience with them?joe2cool0 -

i always do a reading once a month and will continue to do so. NP will send a bill 14 days prior to the money taken out and if estimated they said I can always give them my reading within the 14 days from when the estimated bill is produced and will then use my reading.
After many years of monthly dd and reviews this will be a refreshing change for me.0 -
As long as you time it so that you are not on EDF's Standard tarrif when the heating goes back on, then the extra cost will be minimal if you don't go direct to your new preferred tariff.
4-5 weeks is typical. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thx guys....................joe2cool0
