We have a problem!
My eldest (15 months) is in age 2-3 clothing following a series of rather large upward growth spurts (someone regarded "babygro" as an instruction and not an item of clothing). She definitely needs age 2-3 stuff lengthwise and shows ominous signs of needing 3-4 stuff too flipping soon as well!
Trouble is - she's almost overnight dropped all her baby squidge (including the lovely squidgeable thigh bits - most upset about the loss of squidgy thighs!) and isn't quite walking yet - cruising round the furniture trying to get the confidence up to have a go at letting go (she's like this - she won't try to do something unless she's fairly sure she's going to be able to)... and she keeps crawling along leaving her trousers five feet behind her on the floor! Can't stick her back into 12-18 month stuff, or even 18-24 since it's somewhere around her knees!
Where is cheap and easy that does trousers for skinny beanpoles - that does actual KID clothing and not stuff trying to make them look like mini teenagers?!
(And don't get me started on the "that child shouldn't be in a pushchair at the age of 3" brigade!)

My almost 3 year old is in age 5-6 clothes!!! We've had nothing but snotty glances since she was about 18 months old and in the pushchair!
Clothes.. she wears mainly next.. they do a range of skinny fit stuff from about 2ish.. and vertbaudet.. whose stuff is all really narrow.. everything else falls off her lack of bottom, especially now she is out of nappies!
BHS and M&S do slim fit stuff too.. I'm not sure what their sizes start at though.
Supermarket brands and Mothercare just drop off her.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I also have a problem getting my 4 year old trousers to fit as he is skinny. He also still uses a pushchair and funny due to his disability so I need to grow a tougher skin.....who makes clothes to fit that? LolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

What is it about having a child that makes people think they have the right to comment on you or your child?!!
Debenhams do longer than usual trousers legs l've found and slim fits, they always have sales on and you can shop online to have them delivered.
Next are also good for the same, although l think Debenhams are longer lengths.

Primarks age 2-8 range comes with adjustable waistbands, and some of them are reasonably skinny.0

Oooh Next might be a possibility - clearance one just up the road!
Gone from trousers being tight on her to being left in her wake in about a fortnight as her baby chubbyness fell off and she shot up in height - her sister seems destined to follow in her wake as well - even health visitors get their ages wrong until they check it up on the computer!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
My eldest girl was tall and slim and I found Pumpkin Patch quality was good and also as they come up quite long and with adjustable elastic and button type waist bands. The only downside is that they come from New Zealand sometimes and can take a couple of weeks to come. There was a free delivery code on MSE but not sure if it was for a limited period.

Next & H&M, adjustable waists are your friendThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

you may well find that cheaper clothing ranges are more skimpy in the body measurements while being 'long' enough. strangely tho - Adsa seem to be the other way round! try Primark.0

Both mine are in the upper centiles for height (85th for DD, 4 and 98th!! for DS, 2) and DS particularly is a real skinny minny (only 50th for weight) so I feel your pain. They both live in Primark clothes as since (due to disabilities) they both still crawl they go through the knees in no time so they might as well go through the knees on cheap stuff. In actual fact I find they last as long as Next anyway.
The skinny stretch jeans are great for DD and the boys skinny jeans/trousers are just as good for DS. They both come with adjustable waists too which helps. TBH at this time of year the both live in shorts so the length doesn't matter. With a little girl you can get away with shorts for much of the year if you put a pair of brightly coloured thick tights underneath.0 -
My son is very skinny, I get his trousers from John Lewis as they have adjustable waists. They are on the pricey side but very good quality. They also come up large on the sizing.0
