Yes they can do that. Any redress could first go agasint arrears, amounts owing or defaults.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Why do you think you should not pay the money you owe them but they should pay the money they owe you?0

Hotlips was only asking a perfectly valid question, and you don't really know the circumstances of why she didn't repay the full amount of the loan !0 -
It soens't matter why she didn't pay, she didn't pay.
That was also a valid question.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi guys and girls i just come of the phone to welcome finance i'm ready to throw the towel in on life if i have to do like they said. Back in 2004 i took out a loan with them threw safestyle uk think the opening balance was around £2400, i should have smelt a rat because it was supposed to be interest free and after 6 months i could pay the full balance with no fee's etc when the time came to pay off they told me i couldn't do that and had to carry on with the loan so i did, all was going well until about a year later when my contract for work was ended and i went to claim on the PPI that i was told i needed to get the loan, i was refused because i was contracting and in there words classed as self employed. I was so annoyed i said right i want my money back after a year of campaigning with them they wouldn't let me just pay what i owed on the loan but insisted a pay the ppi i was getting no where fast so i said until they come inline with the contract i wasn't going to pay them the ppi as a result they never took any money until they could verify my money was just for the loan. Eventually we came to a agreement that i signed a form and they would refund the ppi money and put this on the account to clear the arrears from when i wasn't working and also refusing to ppi and recalculate the payment. They recalculated my payment and i took the form into the branch in york where i signed it and handed it over. I thought it was all sorted until years later where i was getting calls saying i was in arrears and how i was going to fix the problem, turns out the never refunded any ppi money to my account at all. whizzing forward to this year and i noticed on my credit report AR or arrangement fee's from welcome finance so i complained as this is as bad as a CCJ and i also enquired why my loan now 9.5 years into a 10 year term was more now than when i started the loan started off at 2400 and so far i have paid 4800 but yet i'm 3000+ till owing they just come back today with a letter stating they had made a mistake for the AR on my credit report but because of the arrears (caused by them not refunding the ppi) my account it right i owe them £3000 how can this be ? The arrears started of at £400 basically but if they had repaid my ppi fee i would have been in credit for repayments. I spoke to welcome finance today and they said unless i make higher payments i will be paying the same amount until i am 64 considering i'm 47 and been paying the dam thing for 9.5 already to the tune of £4800 for a borrowing of £2400 surly they can't do this ? Please Help finding it hard to concentrate on anything at the moment. Paul0

Put in a new complaint to Welcome saying what you have here. Although space it out more. Perhaps use bullet points to highlight the issues as its hard to read in one paragraph as you have put it.

Appart from the last part ie todays letter i did email them with bullet points and this is what they have come back with today. I just don't want to be paying for a loan i did in my 30's when i'm in my mid 60's i was hoping they would have come back and said because they have miss managed the account i had little or nothing to pay.

Do you have a copy of the letter wehre the loan was re-calculated?
Have they rejected it because they weren't regulated?
I can only suggest you e-mail the ceo of the company and explain again, properly, as Dunston says with proper punctuation, and put your case to them.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
