Does anyone know if descrete versions of these lines are available instead of the bright chrome and flourescent line type. I want one that does not stick out like a sore thumb in the garden, IE matt black / Green pole and line. I bet they would sell like hot cales if pushed through Argos and alike

You could always get one of those sturdy plastic covers (same as they make for covering garden furniture - B&Q etc. sell them) for when your line is not in use. They are usually a subtle green colour and would camouflage the collapsed line. When it is in use, it probably doesn't matter what colour it is?
If yours is embedded in a hole in the ground, you could remove it altogether between usage, and store it in the garage, shed or utility, if you have one.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Should have made it clearer I suppose. Its for my mum who has not got the strenth to put up / take down etc but hates the bright yellow thing she has got at the moment.I save so I can spend.0 -
The Hills ones are a dark green colour I think, although the line is still quite bright.
Hmm... yes, it's a pain if you can't get the arms down - as I expect you know - the line gets dirty and also bakes in the sun (when we have some).
I think most of the Hills ones also have a twist-type grip to put them up which seems many times easier than the ones you have to push up really hard whilst hooking them on.
Or perhaps you could get some different coloured line to go in one?
