This one is a corker, I am a private hire driver, I had a pick up at a Travel lodge at a Moto service station at 7.30pm, the customers had booked a return from where they were going to arrive back at around 11.30pm, I entered the parking area of the services at 7.34pm, picked up and left the area about 2 minutes later, after that I did many more pick ups around the local area, travelling many miles and no where near the Moto services. On the return journey for this fare I again entered the Moto services car park to drop my customers back off at the travel lodge at Approx 11.35pm, I left the moto services at 11.41pm. Today my gaffer, the owner of the private hire vehicle, recieved a PCN from CP plus with the APNR pictures showing the vehicle entering the services at 7.34pm, but failing to show any picture of me departing 2 minutes later, instead they show a picture of me departing at 11.41pm after dropping my fare off on the return journey, they fail to show any pictures of me entering the car park about 5 minutes earlier. They are implying that my Private Hire vehicle as been parked there for 4 hours on a Saturday Night! My gaffer has a record of all the runs I did between the outward fare and the return fare, proving at one point I was at least 20 miles away from the Moto services between those times. My gaffer has emailed them to point this out, I told my gaffer that his pleas will fall on deaf ears and should n`t have bothered emailing them, they have n`t a leg to stand on, let them go to court if they dare and let the judge ridicule them!
Any further advice from you chaps would be greatly appreciated

You could write to them thus if you wish to take it away from your employer.

Dear CpPlus
Thank you for the invoice xxxxx dated xxxxx , the keeper of the vehicle denies all liability to your company. This vehicle is a taxi and was at this location twice on this day. We have records to prove this! Your ANPR system is obviously defective as it hasn't picked this up.
The keeper requires that you cancel this fake parking ticket, or give a popla verification code to appeal independently. The keeper will not respond to any further generic correspondence from your company.

If I were you I'd write to BPA, DVLA and Trading Standards with all the information on this and suggest that they investigate this faulty equipment and require CP Plus to refund/cancel all charges issued whilst the equipment has been making "errors".Je suis Charlie.0

Just pointed out to them that the Vehicle in question was a Private Hire vehicle and as such it`s a licensing requirement to log and keep records of every run we do, our records show that the vehicle was in various locations between the hours they say the vehicle was parked at the Moto services, backed up by a couple of statements by customers that had hired the vehicle between those hours0 -
Thanks for coming back with that. Please ensure that your boss is aware of this scam and not to lie down and pay these invoices without challenge, though he probably knows that nowWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. If it was me mate I would, but my gaffer is happy that the charge has been cancelled, however he is now fully aware of how these scammers operate and will not fall for any of the their tricks0 -
Yes I know, not always possible to get others to be as bolshie as we might like!Je suis Charlie.0
