Advice on Halifax mortgage please

Just looking for some advice/other people's experience's
Had a mortgage promise from the Halifax for the requested amount of 90k
Found a house, valuation paid for & completed. Purchase price agreed at 190k.
Deposit 100k, mortgage 90k.
Application has just gone in, all we have provided so far is proof of ID, employment, last wage slip & proof of tax credits.
The lady at the Halifax has been great so far and said it all looks absolutely fine.
I'm worrying..... My partner hasn't had the best financial past, nothing is currently owed but there has been the odd missed payment of mobile phone bill etc....
I know credit scoring plays a part but does the loan to value amount effect it at all? Ie with a 100k deposit how scrupulous will they be?
Also, the lady at the Halifax tells me there is nothing to worry about but is it her that puts it through or someone else?
How long will it take roughly?
We need this to go through as our current circumstances is making it extremely difficult to pay our rent which is almost double what our mortgage payments would be!

Applied for mortgage life protection and as I'm due for a hospital referral they won't write to my GP for a report until after. Problem is its not until after we are hoping to complete.... Do Halifax give you mortgages without this policy in place?

Only building insurance is a must (from anywhere). Anything else (mortgage protection, life insurance, critical illness cover etc.) is your choice.
