My friend looks after her severly disabled husband and gets carers allowance, tax credits and 20% off her council tax, they inherited their house so get no housing benefit. her dog needs vet treatment for a lump on his neck
She struggles to make ends meet and she could not afford to keep up the pet insurance, would the PDSA help her?
thanks

I'm not sure if PDSA will pay for the treatment as the dog wasn't registered before the lump was noticed.
It's worth ringing them anyway, but your friend might not get the answer she wants.0 -
I know when I tried to take my dog there they refused as she is diagonsed with epilepsy and they said they couldn't afford to treat her.
You can't lie either because they will need information from your current vets.
Its only fair as they are a charity but makes you kinda mad when people abuse it when all they have to pay is yearly vaccination and a good diet and their dogs/cats be fine. But when people especially the disabled or elderly really need their services they cannot afford it.
If they can't help try asking your own vets if they know any charities that could help towards the cost (I know in the past a few have helped but when we rang to help with cost of MRI Scan they said all out of money) or couldn't you try pay in installments. I feel for you vet treatment so costly but we can't let our little babies suffer.0
