How many of these accounts to Halifax allow you?
Also, do the 2 direct debits that have to pay out every month have to come from different providers or can they be from the same account/bank? (e.g. can I set up two direct debits from the same Tesco savings account, or does it have to be two different Tesco savings accounts or does it have to be Tesco and some other provider?)
And can the £750 be an internal transfer or does it have to come from an external source?

You can have one account in your sole name, plus one in joint names.
This means an individual can have one, but a couple can have three between them.
Other posters have experienced that they still get the Reward by having two DDs to different Tesco savings accounts, so that is certainly possible.
£750 can be internal transfer.0 -
I've just transferred £750 in and out of the account from another Halifax account and there is no mark of that transaction happening (i.e. it's not registered as a transaction). How then does the system know it ever happened?
Are you sure you actually completed it?
Did the balance go up by £750 when you transferred the money in?
Every time I've done an internal transfer it's shown up on the account.0 -

Yeah the balance went up. Very strange... That said, the system won't let me create a new payee to make a payment as it's playing up again like it did last year asking for a contact number which it already has...
I've just tried sending an external payment to the account from Santander... and guess what, they've delayed it!0 -

The Halifax one went in and I was able to transfer back out again but no transactions have appeared.
I've tried sending an external one but it's the standard thing with Santander. Faster payments are, well, slow as a lot are held back for checks and are sent the next day! Will have to wait to see it go in tomorrow and see if the transaction is recorded on the account. Then will try another internal transfer to see if that is registered tomorrow.0 -
Very odd. I have never experienced anything like this in years of using Halifax. The Halifax one went in and I was able to transfer back out again but no transactions have appeared.
Generally, only payments to new payees are subject to delays at Santander. If all your payments are being held up always, there is a reason for it. Though you might never find out what it is because banks won't tell us when they investigate us.I've tried sending an external one but it's the standard thing with Santander. Yeah it is generally the new payee ones. It's also the 2nd faster payment I've sent today so not surprised to see it held back.0
