Child car seats.
I am looking for suggestions for child car seats from 1 year old and above. our grand child is 1 and growing out of the one we have at present. We are looking for forward facing seats.
Any suggestions please, basically what you use that is comfortable and and is easy to put into one car and another, front facing please

You can join 'Which?' for £1 I think and see what they recommend? Usually Britax / Maxi Cosi - go for a reputable make rather than a cheap one from a supermarket. Have it fitted into your car by the store too, unless you have ISOFIX points - in which case check that it is compatible on the seat manufacturer's website.:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I have to agree with the above. Despite trying to balance 'value for money" on everything else I buy in life, I could never justify anything other than the Which Best Buy for safety (not ease of use).
Heaven forbid that I ever need to find out, but I'd never be able to forgive myself if they were injured in a crash and I'd gone for a car seat based on a cheap price alone.
One other peace of advice, try to keep them in a rear facing seat for as long as possible and up to either the weight or height limit of the current seat, not just the age recommendations (all kids develop differently and it's height and weight that's important here).0 -
This site has some good reviews on various baby/child related goodies.

You could also see if your local council has a road safety team, they will often be able to give you advice and check your current seat. Look on https://www.childcarseats.org.uk, lots of info there.:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I personally wouldn't put a one year old in a front facing seat and wouldn't let my parents put my children in a front facing seat at such a young age, rear facing is much safer. Our three year old is in a rear facing seat she will be four very soon, it is a Britax that can seat a child up to 25kg so about 5 years of age.0

Volvo used to sell a rear facing seat for much less than the same seat with a brandname onit.0

I would suggest you read the instructions and fit it yourself, your child your responsibility and all.
