My daughter currently has a free bus travel Oyster card but the free travel will run out on 30th September 2013.
My daughter will be 20 years old on 8th October 2013 and will be continuing a years foundation course at Camberwell College.
I've been looking to see if she is entitled to continuing free travel or discounted travel but I can't find anything.
Can anybody help please?

When I was in Uni in 2009 I bought a semester for 100 quid a semester. It certainly beat the 3.50 a day though. I don't think she can qualify for a free pass, but you never know. I'd go in and talk to someone about it.0

She can get a discount if she lives in London: http://www.arts.ac.uk/student/enrolment/new/transportforlondonstudentoysterdiscountcardfornewstudents/
You can also get a discount with the 16-25 railcard, if you don't live in London. Only applies off-peak, not sure if applies to buses.0 -
Thanks for your help. Not heard of the £100 per semester option -the rail card wouldn't help as she would be travelling during rush hour but the 30% discount on an 18+ oyster card will be.0

The railcard IS valid in rush hour - but subject to a minimum fare. That means it may not offer any saving

How come she could travel free at 18 and 19? I thought once 18 you had to have the 18+ student oyster which, as you say, gives 30% discount. My son was 18 on June 7th and I've been told he can only get the 18+ student oyster

Yeah I thought it ran out at 180

Some of the cards apply for the academic year and have an end date of 30 September at the start of the following academic year. So depending on your birthday and when you apply, you can get a card still valid when you are 19 if you applied for it when younger.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I notice that last year if Students were 18 at August 31 then they got that year's free travel so I'll have to see what happens this year. The regs are being updated by August 20th, so touch wood. :cool:0
