Diced beef suggestions

Options
I have some diced beef in the freezer, which I bought a few weeks ago with the intention of making a stew. I didn't realise it would get so hot so now stew is off the menu, but I want to use up the beef to help me keep to my grocery challenge budget.

Any lighter suggestions? I have a fair stock cupboard and my DH doesn't do spicy (but DD and I don't mind, if its something I can separate out for DH pre-spice).

Thanks

Peppered beef with rice? It doesn't have to be spicy. Slow cook it first if necessary in a little stock, then add veg and peppered sauce to serve, with rice and salad, or chips, noodles, whatever you have. If you don't have or want to use packet sauce, you can make HM with gravy powder, crushed peppercorns and double cream or milk.

Or slow cook it and make small meat pies that can be served hot or cold with chips and/or salad.

Slow cook it with a tomatoey pasta sauce for a beef ragu with spaghetti?

Sorry I can only suggest slow-cooking ideas, I've never had good results with quick-cooking steak pieces, unless it's very tender meat you could do stir-fry or kebabs with?

I don't think it is especially tender, although it doesn't say stewing beef. I bought it from Aldi in one of my first Aldi shops, so I'm not sure what the meat is actually like.

I do have a slow cooker though (thanks mum!) so slow cooker suggestions are fine, although I am totally useless at using it to make anything other than stock! If you were going to slow cook it, what timings/settings would you use? I think mine sets low/medium/hot (its stowed away on top of the cupboard!)

If you're wanting it for tea this evening, I'd stick it on high for 3-4 hours (use hot water or stock to quicken things up) and it should be done by then. The low setting is ideal if you put a meal on in the morning and are going to be out all day! You could of course do it in a casserole dish in your oven, but that uses more energy. You can add the other ingredients at the same time if you like. I'm not an expert on slow cooking though, mine's got a bit dusty since the warm weather has been here!

I've already got some mince, so I don't really want some more. How would I mince it if I did want to, would I need a special thingy?:D

Stir fry might work. It wasn't for today, will make it for tomorrow.

It's not really a hot weather meal so unless you're desperate to eat from the freezer then I'd either wait until the weather turns or cook and freeze for another day.

My two favourites are luxury chilli (so chilli con carne but with beef cubes) but that probably wouldn't suit your DH. The other is beef in a red wine sauce. Yummy! although it works reasonably well without the wine (just stock).

I've bought the Aldi beef and it's fine but definitely meant for casseroling/slow cooking.
