Can't offer much advice but fairly easy to buy having just purchased a house myself in Spain.
I would just say you might really want to research inheritance tax on properties as can be very very high if not spouses.
Tax varies form municipalities. I'm in outskirts of Madrid and it was 6% but down to 4% as I have a tarjeta familia numerosa (3 kids basically).
You need a 10% deposit usually.
