take a photo of ur damage it may be even that ur car would not have been high enough to hit the car where the other damage is
sometimes people try it on if they think insurance is gonna do work

This won't be what you want to hear, but you'll have a hard time disputing this to be honest.
I was in a car accident where i bumped into the back of another vehicle at about 3mph (rolling speed). My car had some superficial damage, but to my surprise the other vehicle had no visible damage at all. I took HD video on my phone and lots of pictures. The other driver looked dissapointed at the lack of damage to be honest.

I informed insurance for logging purposes and advised no damage to vehicle with pictures to prove. They said they will contact me to request the pictures should he start a claim.

Fast forward to renewal and i have a claim against me. £500 to repaint rear bumper and £1000 hire car charges. My insurance paid out because it's cheaper to do that and less hassle than it would be to dispute it. They are there to protect you but in the end they protect themself as well a lot of the time, and at times the cost to the customer. Judging by the behavior of the other party in my claim it looks like they got a shady bodyshop or else a friend with a bodyshop to make up a false quote and then forward it to my insurance.

If you don't want to pay the quote and the other party won't compromise or budge on it, then you'd be as well passing to the insurance and let them deal with it.

You cannot prevent the injured party making an insurance claim over this. (And you breach your policy conditions by not informing your own insurer about the incident)

Your insurer will hopefully only pay a proper claim.

You can in the normal course of things stop the third party making a claim against your insurance (you cannot stop them claiming from their own). It is a protracted process to force an insurer to respond and given this was on private land it may not even be possible if it isnt covered by the RTA.

Before you even get there you already have to have gone through court to establish liability and quantum at which point the OP presumably would either pay up or involve their insurers without going back to court again for the RTA Insurer question to be resolved.

The problem is that if they claim from their insurance then they'll probably just fix all the damage as from what you say it is minor damage and is probably not worth the time and effort to argue over.

You on the other hand, having admitted to hitting the vehicle, would have to present evidence/ argument to show that on the balance of probability that the other damage was not caused by you.

If the public has easy access to the private land (i.e not locked up and surrounded by fences) then the RTA usually still applies.

Hence say it may not apply rather than it wont

This is why you pay insurance, forward it on.
    Be happy...;)

If it's a public place the road traffic act applies.
