I am starting as a mature student in Sept 2013. My student finance has now all been confirmed and I will need to inform HB and CTC when I start in Sept.
I am trying to work out my finances then, only my husband will be working (salary under 15k) and we have 2 small children so I should still be entitled to some HB.
I am trying to work out which parts of finance are used as "income" and which are disgarded.
So far housing benefits, student finance, my own university, various google searches do not know the answer!!!
Can anyone help please?????
thank you

I think that HB is awarded by the local council - have you tried calling them?
Also don't forget you will get a 25 % discount on your council tax...
Stashbuster - 2014 98/100 - 2015 175/200 - 2016 501 / 500 2017 - 200 / 500 2018 3 / 500

Maintenance grant and loan are both classed as income0

Dependant grant is also classed as income, PLA is disregarded0

thank you flea 72 and nimbo. I completely forgot about the 25% reduction on council tax!! Now at least I have a better idea of what we will have to budget with next year!
