Will disconnecting router from Talktalk isp cause my connection speed to go down?

Hi folks,
I'm with Talktalk broadband and get 3.5 mbps , my connection speed is usually nearer the 4 mbps.
I do some moneyback website clicks to get a few extra pennies.
I go into my netgear DG834 page and disconnect from the isp and reconnect again to make sure my clicks track, I also clear cookies.
I probably do this about 10 times a day.
Looking at my connection speed to isp it seems it has dropped from 4mbps to just under 2mbps.
Is my constant disconnection from isp and reconnecting again causing this to happen, note I am not rebooting router just disconnecting and then reconnecting?
Just though I read somewhere that an isp will reset connection speed to get a more stable connection.
Is this what is happening with Talktalk in my case and if so how long do I need to leave router connected without any disconnections to get back to its normal connection speed?
Thank you very much for any help.
Justin

If you disconnect the adsl then TT will see it as a loss of service and they will probably try to reset your SN ratio. The question is though why do you do that.....? It would be easier to disable your wireless/ethernet adapter on your PC leaving the router connected.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . because the OP wants to obtain a new external ip address each time so they can re-do the click throughs to appear as a new person..
Yes the ISP will be rechecking your line as thinks its a fault (i.e. its not something caused by the router).0 -

Thanks for replies. So if I stop the disconnecting will it automatically go back to normal connection speed over a few days, or will I have to eventually contact TT to get back my normal speed?
Thanks again

Have you checked to make sure this is actually having the effect you want? I don't know about TalkTalk, but for many ISPs this will ~not~ change your externally visible IP address (in those cases you may need to disconnect for a long time before getting assigned a different IP address).0 -
Thanks, definitely changes the ip as far as I can see, but to be honest not worth it if my connection speed goes down and is seen as a fault by my isp.
That's why I would like to find out if I leave things alone will it return to normal over a few days?

The 'training period' can be up to 10 days.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Maybe use a VPN or TOR for all your IP spoofing needs?0

Why don't you just clear cookies before you go on a cashback site ?0
