Carers allowance is paid as long as your total earnings after expenses are under £100.
_EVERYTHING_.
You can take off some expenses - for example if you have to wash clothes at home, or pay to travel while at work (not getting to work), and NI/tax also comes off.
If you earn too much one week, you come off carers the next (and go back on the following, if not earning too much)
Tips, gifts (from customers in the course of buisness), all count.0 -

Just to clarify, Roger...
Do you mean if you wash your uniform at home and are in receipt of the HMRC tax allowance for this? (Genuine question. I know I'm being pedantic... sorry I can't help it, I'm a lawyer....)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

I should have been clearer.
No, I was talking about the actual costs incurred in doing this, not the allowance.0 -
